Food & Drink

Children are welcome to bring a healthy snack from home each day or choose from a small selection of fruit and vegetable snacks provided by the school. As we are a nut-free school, please do not send any foods containing nuts, including peanut butter or products that contain nuts.

We encourage snacks that focus on:

  • Fresh fruit and vegetables
  • Plain starchy foods, such as breadsticks, crackers or rice cakes
  • Dairy foods or dairy alternatives, such as cheese cubes or yoghurt

To help keep snack time safe and enjoyable for everyone, we follow current safer eating guidance and ask parents to do the same when preparing snacks for school. For example, grapes, cherry tomatoes and similar foods should be cut lengthways to reduce the risk of choking.

Further information can be found in the Early Years Choking Hazards Guidance.

Children have access to drinking water throughout the day and are encouraged to drink regularly to stay hydrated.
