Reading

We are passionate about developing a love of reading from the very beginning. Children should bring their reading book and reading diary to school every day.

Book Changes

Reading books are changed on Thursdays, with new books sent home on Fridays.

Reading at Home

Children will bring home a library book to share with their family. We encourage reading each book at least three times, as this helps children build vocabulary, improve understanding, grow in confidence, and develop a deeper enjoyment of stories.

Please sign and comment in your child's reading record each time you read together.

Supporting Phonics

A weekly phonics update will be added to your child's reading record. We may also send home focus sound sheets and QR code videos to support phonics learning at home.

Together, we can help every child become a confident and enthusiastic reader.
