Reading​

​Children are encouraged to read every night with an adult or older sibling. We also encourage families to read to their children to develop the children’s vocabulary, understanding and enjoyment of a text. ​

​Children with phonics books need to read their books 3 times – once for decoding words, once for fluency and one for understanding. ​

​Children need to put their reading book and reading record in the class tray when they have read them. 

Every time a child reads 10 different books, they will receive a certificate in our celebration assembly!
