Reading

Children are encouraged to read every night​ with an adult or older sibling. Reading at​ home is incredibly beneficial to your child’s​ learning. Your child will be given a book ​which is the same as their phonics book. If they​ are a free reader, they can choose from ​our library.​

Reading books will be changed on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Please write in your child’s reading record with three ticks or three smiley faces to show the book has been read.​

​We will celebrate your child reading regularly at home with certificates as well as updating our target charts in our classroom.

Every 10 books = 1 certificate​!

For free readers, every 10 chapters = 1 certificate!
