Orcas Class Embark on First Widening Horizons Trip of the Year

This week, our Year 5 Orcas class took part in their first Widening Horizons trip of the academic year — an exciting opportunity to explore the future of Plymouth’s city centre.

Hosted by leading construction and infrastructure company Morgan Sindall, the children were given a behind-the-scenes look at the city’s latest building developments. They met a wide range of professionals and tradespeople who shared insights into their roles and the impact of their work on the local community.

One of the most exciting moments of the day was learning about the plans for a brand-new city centre play area. Once completed, it will be the largest of its kind in the UK, sparking plenty of excitement and curiosity among the children.

Staff from Morgan Sindall were full of praise for the Orcas class, commenting on their excellent behaviour, thoughtful questions, and enthusiasm throughout the visit. The children represented Pilgrim Primary Academy with pride and maturity, making a fantastic impression on everyone they met.

We’re proud of our Orcas and grateful to Morgan Sindall for providing such a memorable and inspiring experience.
